Which brandy glass to use

Posted on May 4, 2010

So we all know the image of the elderly English gent in movies, swirling his fish-bowl brandy glass around before taking a giant sip but, no matter how suave he looks, unfortunately he’s doing it wrong. Instead, it should be served in a small thin glass which helps to minimise the heavily alcoholic aroma, so you can better appreciate the natural flavours found within the drink. And make sure you hold the glass by the stem – otherwise you risk warming up the glass and letting the booze evaporate too quickly. If you’ve gone to all this trouble of picking the right crystal, you want to enjoy the drink for as long as possible. Of course, it goes without saying, a gentleman always drinks responsibly.
