Remembering the importance of a thank you note

Posted on April 29, 2010

How you thank somebody will affect how they form their lasting impression of you – it may be the only way they come into contact with you from one dinner party to the next. A text is too fleeting, an email too impersonal, a bunch of flowers too over the top.

Instead, invest in some decent stationary – subtly monogrammed from Smythson if you’re feeling fancy – and hand write a little personal note, expressing gratitude and hoping to see your hosts again soon, and send one of these after every party you go to. Not only will it get you invited back, but it will leave your friends with a warm glow in their hearts every time they think of you. Which is worth the price of the postage alone.
